Lutron HomeWorks QS
Lutron HomeWorks QS is Lutron’s premium residential lighting control system, controlling lighting, blinds & curtains and integrating to a range of home automation systems.
This project features the renovation of a bijoux Georgian terraced house and the complete re-build of the mews behind. It’s an interesting combination. In the principal rooms the Georgian elements were retained or re-instated and the lighting relatively traditional and low key. Contrasting with this the rebuilt mews, connecting gym/sauna, bathrooms and roof terrace are highly contemporary. Integration of the lighting with the architecture is key to the project’s success.
This project was shortlisted in the 2014 Build It Awards. a finalist in the prestigious Lighting Design Awards in 2015 and winner of Best Lighting Scheme in the CEDIA Awards in 2015.
The three glass walls of the mews’ entrance form a striking entrance to the property. We lit the entrance with colour-changing LED Lightsheet programmed to cycle through a series of colour.
LED Light Sheet is DMX controlled with the Lutron HomeWorks QS system. The system is programmed to offer dynamic colour change effects in the evening.
The small roof terrace is a fabulous hideaway from bustling Central London. The decking makes an unusual and striking mounting point for party lighting.
The decking features integrated linear LED fittings. They are programmed to ripple colour-changing light across the roof terrace. Colour change control is DMX controlled again using Lutron HomeWorks QS.
