Happy New Year
Happy New Year! 2024 marks Brilliant’s 20th Anniversary and we’ve got a lot to celebrate and a lot to do. 2024 is going to be an exceptionally busy year. We go into the new year with a very full list of live projects and a lot of enquiries coming in. Quite a few of those enquiries are at rather a late stage. As it’s the New Year I look back to a post I wrote back in 2017 titled “Make “Plan your lighting early” your New Year’s resolution”. It’s as true today as it was then.
As we’re in Edinburgh and it’s January, it’s worth remembering that this is the only month the Vaughan Turners are on display. Delicate Turner watercolours bequeathed to the national galleries of Scotland and Ireland and only displayed when the sun is at its weakest. Well worth a visit.
We’ve got a new website in development, one of the reasons this one has been quieter than it should be. The new site is going to be quicker and make it easier for us to post new content quickly. The shop side of the site is getting a complete makeover with a move to a brand-new platform.
This year also marks 20 years of exhibiting at the Homebuilding & Renovating Shows; we first exhibited at the Harrogate show in November 2004. I can’t believe where that time has gone. We’re exhibiting at a couple of the Homebuilding & Renovating Shows this year; the first being the National show at the NEC at the end of March. Melanie is running a lighting design masterclass session in the Masterclass Theatre on Saturday lunchtime. The show runs from Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th of March 2024. We’ve got other exciting news planned for March but that will have to wait for another post. In the meantime, remember to make “Plan your lighting early” your top New Year’s resolution; you don’t want to be wandering round your new house with torches.
