Shooting picture lighting at Swinton Park Hotel

Swinton Park Hotel photographed across the lake

Swinton Park is a luxury country house hotel in the Yorkshire Dales, with fine dining, cookery school, spa and extensive grounds. We were approached in 2014 to light the artwork in some of the hotel’s public areas. Yesterday we were onsite with Charlotte Gale shooting some of the results. This phone snap doesn't do the lighting justice; we're sure Charlotte's photos will.

We’ve used the amazing ArtView picture light to light the large canvasses. It delivers a remarkably even coverage of light across very large pictures. Individual picture light control means the light for each canvas can be tuned to that particular pieces colour and characteristics. We will have a full case study of this project up soon.
