A large part of the charm of this build lies in the natural materials used when it was originally a mill and miller’s house. We used floor recessed uplights to accentuate the wooden structure and original stone wall. Solid flamed bronze bezels complement the natural tones, and optional glare shields minimise any issues.
While uplights are typically used on floors, they also work beautifully in other applications. In this project, we placed them in deep window reveals, using small-diameter uplights with lower output to create a soft wash of light, perfect for highlighting the items on display and framing the windows in the evening.
