Staircase and artwork lighting
The colonnaded hallway and sweeping double stairs are an important feature in the house, set off by striking artwork.
The lovely central chandeliers are exactly the right scale for the space, but the richness and interest in the hall is created because of the other light sources being used. The picture lights focus attention on the art, and the table lamps and top quality downlights provide layering and bring out the warmth of the walls and stone floor.

The staircase features a series of wonderful silk prints of game birds; there are a number of oil paintings. Each is lit with a bespoke ArtView LED picture light customised to the size, medium and colour of the piece being lit.
The basement is an amazing leisure space in a series of brick cellars
The arched cellars make an amazing space under the house. There's a bar, wine cellar, a sauna and a games room. Because the building work had all been done a long time before, it was a tricky space to retro-fit the lighting to because fixing points were so limited. We worked with the joiner and electrician to design ‘chunky skirting boards’ to house punchy wall grazer linear uplights and used industrial style conduit on which to mount discrete miniature ceiling spots.
